Experience Summary

Lauren Hicks started working with children in 2015 at a Montessori in Sugar Land as a teacher assistant. During that time, she began working on the director's certification while pursuing a teaching degree. Moving to a front office position in 2017 did not impede hands-on involvement with students in the STEAM Lab. By 2019, a transition to Hicks led to becoming a Pre-K Aide, a role thoroughly enjoyed. The decision to move to the Library Aide position in 2022 was fueled by a passion for interacting with all children in the school.

Commitment to Students and Staff

Dedicated to supporting students and staff at the campus, Ms. Hicks remains flexible and approachable. Responsibilities include covering classes for ARD/Staffings and assisting when other staff members are absent, spanning various classroom settings and aiding in tech-related tasks. In addition to supporting fundraisers and maintaining the Super Tiger award board, Ms. Hicks focuses on understanding students' preferences and providing assistance during challenging times. Availability for students seeking a moment to unwind is a core priority.

Personal Life and Future Aspirations

Outside of work, Ms. Hicks' life centers around her 2-year-old son, Maverick. Embracing the experiences at Hicks, interactions with students, witnessing their growth, welcoming new staff, and forming friendships with colleagues have been fulfilling. Plans include completing the teaching degree and transitioning into a classroom teaching role within the next 3 years.
