HICKS ELEMENTARY – DRESS CODE 2025-2026
Tops:
Tops may be any solid color, long or short-sleeved, with a collar.
Turtlenecks and button-down style shirts are also acceptable.
A solid-colored t-shirt with no writing, graphics or pictures may be worn under any collared shirt.
Bottoms:
Bottoms may be navy, khaki, or black. Students may wear shorts, slacks, skirts, skorts, or jumpers.
They must be fitted (not baggy) and worn at the waist.
Leggings under skirts and jumpers should be a solid color.
Sweat or athletic-style pants are not allowed.
Jeans are allowed on Fridays only.
Accessories:
All jackets, coats, and hoodies must be stored in closets. They will not be worn in the classrooms.
As some classrooms are cold, students may wear solid-colored sweatshirts, sweaters, or lightweight jackets without hoods over
their uniform shirts in the school building. Solid color turtlenecks or long-sleeved t-shirts may also be worn under uniform shirts
for warmth.
Tuesday Spirit Days – ALIEF PROUD!!!
On Tuesdays, students are encouraged to demonstrate district and school pride! Alief ISD or Hicks school t -shirts or uniform
shirts may be worn. If you are showing school pride, you may also wear jeans! Jeans must be blue, black, or khaki, and may n ot
have holes.
Friday Spirit Days – College and Career Ready – Our Future is Bright!!!
On Fridays, students are encouraged to wear college or military t-shirts. School shirts are also allowed on this day. Jeans are
allowed with these spirit shirts or a uniform top. Jeans must be blue, black, or khaki, and may not have holes.
Individual Picture Day
Students are allowed to dress up on individual picture day. A reminder with guidelines will be sent out with the picture day
information.
Shoes
Shoes must be appropriate and safe for physical activity. Tennis/athletic shoes are preferred. Dress shoes and sandals are
only allowed on the fall picture day. Crocs are not allowed on any day.
Character Strong Days (announced monthly)
Every month we include lessons in our classrooms designed to build strong characters. One day each month we “spotlight”
the trait by wearing a specific color. For example, when we learn about courage, the spotlight day is yellow. Students may
wear yellow shorts or yellow jeans and/or a yellow shirt. Students may wear a yellow hat or scarf or bows. Clothing may
be any shade of yellow. Clothing may have other colors (ex. stripes or dots), and shirts do not need collars, as long as the
clothing is MOSTLY yellow. All other dress code requirements apply. Please ensure that clothing is school-appropriate.
Special Dress Days during Red Ribbon Week, in December, and for special celebrations/graduation will be announced. Students
should be in standard dress on all other days.
If a student does not come to school in the appropriate mode of dress, parents will be called to bring a change of clothing to the
school or clothing from the clinic/CIS will be provided. Please wash and return the borrowed school uniform in a timely manner.
The Shared Decision-making Council selected a basic uniform so that parents could shop at the store of their choice. Target,
Walmart, J.C. Penney's, Academy, The Uniform Store and many other stores will have most of the uniform pieces.
With parent support, we are hopeful that the standard mode of dress will enhance the learning environment for all of our stud ents.

HICKS ESCUELA PRIMARIA - UNIFORME REQUERIDO 2025-2026
Camisetas:
Las camisas pueden ser cualquier color sólido, manga larga o corta, con cuello.
Suéter tipo con cuello alto y camisas de botones son aceptables.
Una camiseta color sólido sin escritura, gráficos o imágenes puede ser usada bajo cualquier camisa de cuello.
Fondos:
Fondos pueden ser azul marino, caqui o negro. Los estudiantes pueden usar pantalones cortos, pantalones, faldas, faldas o
jumpers.
Se debe colocar (no anchos) y usado en la cintura.
Polainas debajo de las faldas y jumpers deben ser un color sólido.
No se permiten pantalones de estilo deportivo.
Jeans se permiten sólo los viernes.
Accesorios:
Todas las chaquetas y abrigos deben almacenarse en armarios. Como algunas aulas son frías, los estudiantes pueden usar
sudaderas de color sólidos, suéteres o chaquetas ligeras sin capuchas sobre sus camisas de uniforme . Cuello alto de color sólido
o camisetas también pueden ser usado debajo de camisas de uniforme para calor .
Los días de colegio son miércoles
Los miércoles, se alienta los estudiantes a demostrar orgullo universitario o militar. Los estudiantes de Hicks pueden usar
camisetas universitarias o militares de su elección con los pantalones del uniforme. No se pueden usar jeans.
Los días de orgullo de la escuela
El viernes, los estudiantes son alentados para demostrar el orgullo de la escuela. Camisetas de Hicks o camisas de uniforme se
pueden usarse con jeans, faldas, pantalones cortos o jumpers... solamente viernes! Los jeans deben ser azul, negro, o color
caqui y sin agujeros.
Días de fotos
Los estudiantes pueden vestir formalmente en días de foto. Tenga en cuenta que los estudiantes todavía deben ser
capaces de participar en el PE y el recreo y deben cumplir con requisitos de distrito. Por ejemplo, si usted envía a su hija en
talones y un vestido de iglesia con tirantes delgados, por favor enviar diferentes zapatos y un cambio de ropa o un suéter
para después de las fotos.
Zapatos
Los zapatos deben ser apropiados y seguros para la actividad física. Se prefieren los tenis/zapatos deportivos. Los zapatos
de vestir y las sandalias solo se permiten en el día de la fotografía de otoño. Los zapatos “crocs” no están permitidos ningún
día.
Dia de Enseñanza de Valores (anunciados mensualmente)
Todos los meses incluimos lecciones en nuestras aulas diseñadas para desarrollar buenos valores. Un día de cada mes,
"destacamos" un valor usando un color específico. Por ejemplo, cuando aprendemos sobre la valentía, el día se enfoca en el
color amarillo. Los estudiantes pueden usar pantalones cortos amarillos o pantalones de mezclilla (jeans) amarillos y/o una
camisa amarilla. Los estudiantes pueden usar un sombrero, bufanda o moños amarillos. La ropa puede ser de cualquier tono de
amarillo. La ropa puede tener otros colores (p. ej., rayas o lunares), y las camisas no necesitan cuello, siempre que la ropa sea
MAYORMENTE amarilla. Aplicando todos los demás requisitos del código de uniforme. Asegúrese de que la ropa sea apropiada
para la escuela.
Se anunciarán días de vestir especial durante la Semana del Listón Rojo, en diciembre, y para celebraciones/graduaciones
especiales. Los estudiantes deben estar en uniforme los demás días.
Si un estudiante no viene a la escuela en el modo apropiado de vestido, la escuela va a llamar a los padres para que puedan t raer un
cambio de ropa a la escuela o se proporcionará ropa de la clínica/CIS. Por favor lave y devuelva el uniforme escolar prestado de
manera oportuna.
El concejo de toma de Decisiones decidió un uniforme básico. Los padres podrán comprarlo en la tienda de su selección. Almacenes
como Target, Walmart, J.C. Penny's y muchos otros tendrán los uniformes.
Con el apoyo de los padres, esperamos que el uniforme nos ayudará realzar un ambiente de aprendizaje para nuestros estudiantes.
